Ballistol can be used to clean, preserve, protect, prevent corrosion, disinfect, rejuvenate, maintain and impregnate all items made of metal, smooth leather, unpainted and polished wood, and all common hard plastics. It can also remove ballpoint pen ink.

Unlike other brands, Ballistol emulsifies in water: it mixes with the water and penetrates it. This means that when the water evaporates, the Ballistol oil remains and continues working on and protecting the metal, plastic, wood or leather.

Unlike other technical oils, which harden with time, Ballistol does not resinify as it contains a combination of anti-oxidants and medical oils, which makes it much less susceptible to ageing.
